چکیده

Abstract Background and Aims Oxidative stress activation of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) due to chronic hyperglycemia are pathogenesis diabetic nephropathy (DN). Until now, therapy for DN has not shown satisfactory results. Rosmarinic acid (RA) which antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrosis effects, ARB can inhibit RAS may have a synergistic effect prevent progression. This study aims determine inhibiting mesangial expansion in rat models after being given combination RA (candesartan or losartan). Method True experimental laboratory trial with randomized post-test only control group method on Rattus norvegicus strain Wistar rats. Diabetic rats were prepared by giving high-fat diet (60% fat calories) single injection 40 mg/kg streptozotocin. Mice divided into 4 groups, each consisting rats: negative (healthy rats); positive (placebo that received candesartan; losartan. The glomerulus was evaluated assess using ImageJ 1.48 software 8 weeks treatment pathologist blindly. Data analysis One-way ANOVA Tukey's post hoc tests. Results results percentage matrix (81.49% ± 1.45) higher than (58.82% 0.99). + candesartan (61.56% 0.35) losartan (62.28% 0.77) showed lower group, test showing significant differences (p: 0.000). tests induced diabetes STZ significantly increased compared (MD: [22.66]; 95% CI: [20.62], [24.72]; p: inhibited [-19.92]; [-21.97], [-17.87]; 0.000), as well [-19.21]; 95%CI: [-21.26], [-17.16]; better but 0.735). Conclusion rosmarinic

Stereological study of octreotide’s (somatostatin analogue) chronic effects on the prevention of glomerular mesangial expansion in uninephrectomized diabetic rats

Background: Diabetic nephropathy is one of the causes of end stage renal diseases (ESRD). Increase of IGF-1(insulin like growth factor) and GH (growth hormone) in diabetes induce kidney lesions especially Intraglomerular mesangial expansion, glomerular sclerosis and finally nephron dysfunction. In this research, IGF-1 and GH production inhibition by octreotide and sclerosis inhibition assessed ...

Rosmarinic Acid Ameliorates Diabetic Nephropathy in Uninephrectomized Diabetic Rats

Objective(s) Oxidative stress plays an important role in diabetic nephropathy pathogenesis. Rosmarinic acid, a plant phenolic compound, was first used as an antioxidant agent for inhibition of diabetic nephropathy. Material and Methods Forty male rats were uninephrectomized from the left flank. The rats were divided in four groups randomly; group one as control, group two diabetic untreatment...

Suppressive effects of rosmarinic acid on mesangioproliferative glomerulonephritis in rats.

BACKGROUND Rosmarinic acid is known to be a natural phenolic compound widely distributed in Labiatae herbs such as rosemary, sweet basil, and perilla. In the present study, we evaluated the suppressive effects of rosmarinic acid on mesangioproliferative glomerulonephritis in vivo, which was induced by intravenous injection of rabbit anti-rat thymocyte serum (ATS) to rats. METHODS Rosmarinic a...
